This is information that I have learned throughout the WLS process.
The Lingo:
WLS - Weight Loss Surgery
Pre Op - Before your operation
Post Op - After your operation
PCP - Primary Care Doctor
VSG - Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy
RNY -Roux en Y
LAGB - Laproscopic Adjustable Gastric Band
There are currently 3 popular bariatric surgeries being preformed. VSG, RNY, LAGB. Each surgery has it's pros and cons, success rates and risks.
This is a wonderful comparison chart that I found nordbariatric.com. There is a lot to think about with each surgery. There are pro's and con's to each. I've found that the Gastric Band or Lap Band is starting to be phased out with the Gastric Sleeve gaining in popularity.
